RV Business reports the 36 foot trailer that Elizabeth Taylor used for her dressing room during the filming of Cleopatra in 1963 sold at auction recently for $51,660. Twentieth Century Fox was said to have spent $75,000 to lavishly outfit the Aljo trailer with full columns mounted on the walls, hand-painted ceilings and and murals on the bedroom walls to help ?keep Elizabeth Taylor in the true character of Cleopatra.? $75,000 in today?s dollars would be the equivalent of $560,000. After filming, the trailer was on the ranch of one of the movie?s backers, then was in a museum, and most recently served as a guest house at a private residence.
