More Windy & Hot Weather For DFW

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - We are on day number two of a three-day hot and windy streak. While high temperatures hit 92 degrees on Wednesday, the winds gusted to 38 mph officially at DFW Airport. We may not see gusts to 40 mph on Thursday, but we?ll stick with 20 to 30 mph winds and gusts between 30 and 35 mph.

High temperatures will push to near 95 degrees on Thursday and again on Friday, with just as strong wind gusts. Clouds developed in our skies on Thursday morning and will dissipate through the day. Expect this to be a repeating pattern through Memorial Day ? morning clouds, mostly sunny afternoons.

Increasing humidity with make it feel more uncomfortable this weekend, and also contribute to bringing our afternoon high temperatures in the low 90s for both Saturday and Sunday. The winds will ease into the ?breezy? category of 10 to 20 mph, and still from the south.

We?re still on track for low 90s next week, with a small pattern breakdown that may allow for a small storm chance on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Overall, it looks like North Texas will continue a hot streak of 90-degree heat to round off May and start up June. Last year, our first 90-degree days showed up in April. But this year, we waited until May 4. However, our present string of 90s started on May 21, versus last year?s May 24. This a certain sign of the hot summer yet to come.
